On behalf of the men and women of the Albany State University Police Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Police Department's website. We are a full service police department with 24-hour coverage with certified police officers and security officers. We have our own in-house certified dispatchers/communications officers utilizing the 800 megahertz radio system. We patrol our campus in marked police vehicles, bicycle patrol, golf carts, ATV patrol, and foot patrol. We are committed to providing a safe, secure environment for all university employees, students and visitors.
Our motto is “Respect is not deserved, but is earned”. The department strives to promote and maintain a campus conducive to academic achievement. A truly safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation of the entire campus community. With your help and participation and our commitment, I am confident that the time you spend with us will be safe and productive. We believe this can best be accomplished through the formation of partnerships with the campus organizations, groups and individuals. Your police department cannot stand alone; we rely on your assistance and your support in our mission.
I invite you to browse this site to acquaint yourself with our organization and the services we provide. Perhaps you might assist us through our crime solvers community oriented policing philosophy, or you may have suggestions for improving safety in other ways. To this end, I hope you will find this website both helpful and informative. I look forward to your comments and your feedback.
The department is located on the east side of campus in the Central Energy Plant.
