GREETINGS FROM THE DEAN
Dr. Joyce Y. Johnson, Dean, College of Sciences and Health Professions

Welcome to Albany State University, College of Sciences and Health Professions, Department of Nursing. What a phenomenal experience you have in store for you as a nursing student and after graduation as a baccalaureate-prepared registered nurse (RN), or as a graduate student entering the next phase of your nursing career as an educator or Advanced Practice Nurse! The world of health care delivery is dynamic, demanding, and daunting and we are pleased you have chosen to be a part of the solution to helping clients meet their health care needs in a caring and holistic way.

We are delighted you have joined us at Albany State University. As a nursing student you will be challenged to devote your time and energies to reading, studying hard and preparing well so that you can provide the best services possible for the clients you will serve upon graduation. We, the faculty, are here to guide you through the program so that you can be as successful as possible.

I encourage each of you today to write your vision, make it plain so that you may run and not faint. Remember that at Albany State University, we want you to realize your potential. We are here to serve and assist you in your journey. Best wishes to each of you.
