The mission of the Office of Alumni Affairs is to encourage alumni to support the University and help develop and strengthen their bonds with the institution.
Function
The Office of Alumni Affairs is a part of the Division of Institutional Advancement (IA) and its staff works coopertaively and collaboratively with IA to advance the overall goals of the division and the University. The Office of Alumni Affairs is responsible for developing initiatives that engage alumni in the life of Albany State University by serving as a conduit through which alumni can support the institution in fulfilling its goals and mission. The Office serves five primary functions:
* Reclaim & Engage - Developing and fostering initiatives that reclaim, reunite, and engage alumni.
* Fundraising - Direct the alumni annual giving campaign to build and maintain support for the University by soliciting and coordinating alumni contributions and fundraising events.
* Program Development - Developing programs that highlight the value of alumni and programs through which alumni can aid the University in fulfilling its current goals and historic mission.
* Public Relations & Communications - Foster relationships among alumni, volunteer and community organizations, and civic and corporate constituents; while maintaining and improving communication between the University and alumni through various forms of communications media.
* Recruitment - Assisting with the recruitment of students by engaging alumni in the initial identification and building of relationships with prospective students.
