Interlibrary Loan:
ASU students, faculty or staff seeking books or articles not available at our library may request them from another library through Interlibrary Loan. Request forms are available at the Circulation Desk. Interlibrary loans may also be requested by e-mail. Include your name, address and telephone number. To request a BOOK, include Title, Author (including middle initial), Publisher, Place of Publication, Date and Edition. To request a PERIODICAL , include the Periodical's Title, Volume, Number, Date, Page Numbers, Article Author and Article Title. You will be notified by phone or e-mail when your Interlibrary Loan Request has arrived. Implementation of GIL Express System was completed in September, 2004 to enhance the Interlibrary Loan Services. This new system allows University System of Georgia faculty, staff and students to make online or in-person requests for any books contained in the general collections of the 34 libraries throughout the state.
Reserves:
Faculty may make specific materials available to their students by placing them on reserve at the Circulation Desk. Reserves are checked out for two hours and must be used in the library. Also, some reserves may be checked out overnight with the professor's permission. Some materials may be placed on three-day reserve or one-week reserve at the faculty member's discretion.
ERIC:
The ERIC Collection (Education Resources Information Center) is the product of a nationwide information network which provides ready access to educational literature. Sources of the documents contained in ERIC include: state and local educational organizations, school study councils, regional and national conferences, etc.
Newspapers:
Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Wall Street Journal are available at the Circulation Desk on the second floor. The Albany Herald may be accessed on the web. Most newspaper backfiles for The New York Times, The Albany Herald and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are available on microfilm. Microfilm/Microfiche reader printers are located on the second floor.
Government Documents:
The library has a number of government documents. These materials do not circulate from the library. Exceptions are made for special needs.
Periodicals:
The library receives approximately 450 periodical titles in both print and microform formats dealing with a wide range of subjects. Periodical holdings are listed alphabetically in the Serial Printouts.
Media Services:
Audio visual aids are available for use on campus through Media Services. Some overnight checkout is allowed if equipment is available. A media checkout form must be completed for this service. Faculty may contact kenneth.abidde@asurams.edu. Please give a 24 hour advance notice when services are requested. Equipment available for use: Overhead projectors, VCRs, TV/VCR Combos, audio cassette players, CD players, LCD projectors, projection screen, flip charts and a digital camera.
Viewing Room: A viewing room is available for patrons to view videos in the library. Contact the Circulation Desk at (229) 430-4805 to request viewing privileges for Room 231.
Change Machine:
A change machine is available for patrons to make change for Xerox machine copying. All Xerox machines are equipped to accept $1 bills.
Photo Copy Room:
Coin-operated, self-service copy machines are available in Room 230 on the second floor. Another copier is located on the first floor. Copies are .10 per copy.
Library Bibliographic Instruction Tours:
Faculty may request bibliographic instruction tours for their classes. These sessions include a library tour and a computer demonstration of GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning On-Line) and the GIL (Galileo Interconnected Libraries) RAMCAT . ASU Archives
The Albany State University Archives is a collection of historical papers and resources that detail the history of Albany State University. In order to access information in the Archives, please call for an appointment at 229.430.4799. Your request will be taken, and the materials that are requested will be retrieved by a library staff member for use.

RamPrint Services
RamPrint vending services are now available at the library. You must use your RamCard to print at all stations in the library and student technology lab in order to print.
