Crowned queen and king were Nyasia Jones and Makell Martin (front row). (ALBANY, GA - May 19, 2008) ASU Concert Chorale to perform in Costa Rica
Members of the Albany State University Concert Chorale will bring their musical talent beyond U.S. borders when they perform in Costa Rica next month. The ASU Concert Chorale will visit Costa Rica June 17-23. During the trip, chorale members will perform on June 18 and June 21 in local churches near San José. (ALBANY, GA - May 13, 2008) ASU’s NASA SEMAA summer program prepares for liftoff In Albany State University’s NASA SEMAA summer program, students can make and launch rockets, learn what it is like to walk on the moon, eat astronaut food, make asteroids and engage in activities. ASU’s NASA SEMAA summer sessions will be held June 2-29 at Monroe Comprehensive High School. The SEMAA program is free to all participants and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can enroll in one of the following sessions: June 2-6, June 9-13, June 16-20 or June 23-27. (ALBANY, GA - May 12, 2008) ASU to hold annual Kiddie College June 2-27
About 100 children are expected to get a preview of college life at Albany State University during
the annual Kiddie College. For 28 years the program has provided students in grades kindergarten through eighth with academic and enhancement activities. This year’s offerings include math, language arts, information technology, science, testing strategies, Spanish, music, health and wellness, and career exploration. (ALBANY, GA - May 6, 2008) ASU to hold first computer programming summer camp
Budding computer programmers can hone their skills during Albany State University’s first week-long Science, Technology Engineering Program (STEP) Interactive Computer Programming Summer Camps for middle and high school students. The middle school session will be held July 7-11. The high school session will be held July 14- 18. The sessions will include hands-on activities with university professors in robotics and computer programming. Programming activities include using environments, such as Alice and Scratch, and programming applications, such as Lego Robots and Pico Crickets.Click here for press release.
