ABOUT ACADEMIC COURSES (AND THE SUMMER SEMESTER):

ALL students MUST sign up for the two undergraduate level courses offered: CRJU 3300 - International Comparative Legal Systems and POLS 3200 - Politics, Law and Society in Africa, by registering for them during regular summer school registration. If these courses are not listed on early summer school schedules, check to make sure that the South Africa Study Program is indeed being offered during that summer. If the Program is being offered, the courses WILL BE listed in a later schedule, so students must remember to sign up for them.

The courses are open to any major, and can be applied to the total number of required academic credit hours for graduation, even if not applied specifically to a student's major. The last Study Program in South Africa, where these courses were offered, had at least 7 academic majors represented.

These courses will not affect the number of hours you plan to take during the regular summer session here in Albany, prior to traveling to South Africa. So, for instance, if you planned to take 6 credit hours here in Albany (or whatever the maximum number of credit hours allowed here), you still can.

Know that our application deadline is March 6, 2007 and includes a $200 application fee.

MANDATORY PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION:

Also know that there will be MANDATORY pre-departure orientation sessions after March 6, 2007.
