Albany State University continues to maintain a tradition of excellence in the area of athletics. Its exemplary programming includes baseball, football, women's volleyball, softball, women's tennis, men and women's basketball, cross country and track and field. The Golden Ram's numerous achievements and honors have resulted in national recognition. All athletic programming emphasizes the importance of both academic and athletic excellence. The University is a member of the Southern intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and competes at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
