Special Message from the President: Student Debt Relief

Dear Rams,

Have you heard? ASU eliminated student debt for eligible students. If you have not enrolled for the fall, it is not too late. You now may enroll for classes and continue your college education.

Your success is our number one priority. Our goal is to provide transformational experiences that prepare you to be effective contributors to a globally diverse society resulting in professional and personal success.

We know that from time-to-time there can be barriers that hinder your ability to accomplish your goals and achieve your dreams, like the burden of student debt. To allow you to continue your journey to success, we have cleared any remaining balances for ASU students enrolled during the COVID-19 pandemic impact period.

With this assistance, you are likely clear to enroll for the fall semester. Check out your student account via BannerWeb and contact your academic advisor to determine your status and enrollment classification.

This opportunity is a game changer for you. You are being given the chance for a fresh financial start to focus your attention on your studies, while avoiding the distraction of student debt. Initiatives like these reinforce ASU’s commitment to student success. This is crucial to assisting our students that want to continue to pursue their academic dreams here at a time when COVID-19 has negatively impacted financial resources for families nationwide.

We are delighted to contribute to your dreams and provide some financial relief and assistance to set you on a path toward financial freedom from student debt.

ASU funded this initiative using funds from the American Rescue Plan, Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), passed by the United States Congress to provide fast and direct economic assistance to the American people, specifically for education.

Yours for ASU,

Marion Ross Fedrick
