ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University is set to celebrate the 26th annual Fountain City Classic Saturday, Nov. 7, in Columbus, Ga.
With the theme “Classic Magic is Back,” the weekend is packed with fun-filled events as the Albany State Golden Rams prepare to go head-to-head against the Fort Valley State University Wildcats at 2 p.m. at the A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium.
The 8th annual FCC Cufflinks and Pearls & Leaders of Today & Tomorrow (LOTT) Networking Mixer will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Columbus River Center for the Performing Arts. Emmy Award winning broadcaster Ed Gordon will serve as the event’s special guest. Later that night, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet at 7 p.m. with ASU and FVSU representatives during the University Recruitment Fair at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.
Activities continue Friday, Nov. 6, with the FCC Golf Classic beginning at 11 a.m. at the Follow Me Golf Course in Fort Benning, Ga. The evening concludes with the 8:30 p.m. Classic Couture Runway Fashion Show at the Columbus Trade Center. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
The culmination of the Classic celebration begins Saturday, Nov. 7, with the FCC parade starting at 9 a.m. on Colin Powell Parkway in Phenix City, Ala., with the football game following later that afternoon.
