M.Ed. School Counseling Program

The Master of Education in school counseling prepares individuals to work effectively as counselors in K-12 school settings. The program is approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and accredited by the National Council on the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  Program graduates qualify for the Department’s endorsement for initial certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission as a school counselor (T-5). Students may apply to the National Board for Certified Counselors at the completion of their program. The curriculum consists of 48 semester hours of academic credit, including 100 clock hours of practicum and 600 hours of internship experiences in a school setting.
