Alright, you have had a great vacation and the beginning of the semester is suddenly approaching! The time to arrive to the campus is just around the corner and there are some things you need to know about checking in to housing. Well, no need to worry Housing and Residence Life’s team has all of the tools and knowledge you need to have a successful check-in process.
Move In Dates
Check-In dates: See current academic calendar click here.
Reporting to My Residence Hall
Moving into your assigned space begins with reporting to the residence hall you confirmed within your My Housing portal registration process. If you have forgotten this information, no problem, just revisit the portal and print your status page.
Front Desk Check-In
Once you have arrived at the appropriate building site (Apartments, Suites, Modern, or Traditional), locate the front desk area to check in. Visit your room and complete all forms (resident information card, room condition report, programming survey, etc.) making sure everything is to-date and accurate. Return all forms completed to a Housing and Residence Life Staff assistant and receive your key(s).
Now that everything checks out fine, it’s time to move into your “home away from home.”
You may begin to move your personal items into your assigned space (Find out more on this at What to Bring and What Not to Bring). Get family and friends to assist you with this process, it can be fun and exciting. Moving in is also a great opportunity to build relationships with your roommate(s). You can start by helping one another during your moving in.
Following check in into the residence halls, student-residents in the Traditional-Modern Style halls may request their personal mailbox key in the James Reese Student Union Building, located on the lower end of campus (adjacent to the James Pendergrast Memorial Library).
Making check in a fast, convenient process is one of many things we take pride in. We encourage all our residential guests to bring a small cart or hand truck to help make the process faster.
