Post Baccalaureate Admissions


A post-baccalaureate is a student that has received a bachelor’s degree from another institution and wants to enroll in additional undergraduate level courses. They may or may not seek to earn a second undergraduate degree.

Non-Degree Seeking

  1. Apply for Admission ($25 non-refundable application fee).
  2. Official transcript from the institution in which undergraduate degree was received.

On Page 3 of your application, under “Enrollment Information:”

  • Application Type: “Post baccalaureate”
  • Do you plan to seek a degree? “No”
  • What degree do you intend to earn? “Select a degree”
  • What is your intended major? “Non Degree – Post Baccalaureate”

Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for federal financial aid.

Degree Seeking

  1. Apply for Admission ($25 non-refundable application fee).
  2. Official transcripts from all previous institutions.

On Page 3 of your application, under “Enrollment Information:”

  • Application Type: “post baccalaureate”
  • Do you plan to seek a degree? “Yes”
  • What degree do you intend to earn? “Bachelor’s”
  • What is your intended major? Choose the major you intend to earn.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will only maintain a record of non-enrolling student test scores and transcripts for five years. Admission applications and fees are only kept for two years.

Transfer Admissions Checklist

  1. Apply online.

    2. Electronic Delivery Method: transcripts must be sent directly to our office in order for it to be considered official. If an email address is needed, please have transcripts emailed to admissions@asurams.edu.

    1. Traditional Mail Delivery Method: transcripts must be in the original envelope, sealed from the institution they are being requested from. They must be mailed to:

    1. Do you need help finding out how to request your transcripts? Start by reaching out to the Registrar’s Office at your previous institution.

  4. Check your admission status online.
  • This status will reflect whatever we have in our records at that exact moment. You will be aware of our admissions decision as soon as it is made without having to wait for an admissions letter.
  • Please note that it can take 7-10 business days for your checklist to update after your documents are received. If your documents are not marked as received after 7-10 business days, please forward a copy of your transcript confirmation email to admissions@asurams.edu.
  • Once complete and ready for review, we will provide an admissions decision within 3-4 weeks. Please note that if additional documents are needed, your checklist will update to reflect outstanding requirements.

 Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis. Decisions are posted online.

 
Post Baccalaureate applicants must complete the application. In addition, post baccalaureaute applicants are required to submit all college transcripts from current and past colleges attended.
Yes, we offer a rolling admissions process! Rolling admissions means we process applications and supporting documents as they are received. This allows you to know your admission decision once you complete your application, rather than waiting for a decision after a hard deadline.

Yes! If you applied, then you have a RAM ID number. You can look up your RAM ID number if you do not know the number.

Many high schools and colleges have different options when sending official transcripts. Please refer to your school’s guidance office or college registrar’s office to find out their preferred method. If your high school or college is mailing an official transcript it can be mailed to the following address:

Transcripts from one institution will only show the transferable courses from previous institutions. They will not list non-transferable courses or courses that earned a grade of F, WF, or I. Therefore, we need transcripts from all colleges attended to evaluate your application accurately. We also require official transcripts from all colleges attended to ensure you are in good standing.

 

Yes, please send transcripts from each of your previously attended institutions and please make sure that they are official.

 

You will need to pay off that balance and/or address that hold with that institution before you can complete your application at Albany State University.

You can start off by visiting each previously attended institution’s online student portal, if applicable, to see if you can request to have your transcripts sent electronically or sent by mail. If you have trouble locating the portal for the institution, then try emailing or calling their Office of the Registrar or equivalent office.

This does not mean your transcript cannot be located. Usually, when an institution closes their doors for good their records are passed along to a third party. Try the following:

  • Try searching online for “ (Institution Name) transcripts.” This is a great starting point.
  • In the event that you are unable to find any information about requesting the transcripts with an online search, try contacting the Department of Education in the state where that institution was based.
