Albany State University is taking a multifaceted approach to helping residents of Albany and Southwest Georgia recover from storm and tornado damage in January. We will assess and assist university students, faculty and staff and conduct outreach to support the greater community.
The university has established a call center to help. ASU students, faculty, and staff impacted by the weather may reach a call center representative at 229-430-1676 to make us aware of your needs. The call center will be open Tuesday, January 24 through Friday, January 27 from noon to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., please call the ASU Police Department at 229-430-4711.
Students needing emotional support may call the counseling service center at 229-903-3610 or 229-317-6734. Faculty and staff members in need of emotional support may call 1-877-327-2724. Telephone lines will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-on-one counseling is available upon request.
Non-perishable food items, first aid kits, toiletries, diapers, pillows and blankets are available to those families recovering from the inclement weather. ASU volunteers will be distributing these items beginning Tuesday, January 24.
