What motivated you to learn more about your field?
I was motivated to learn more about criminal justice, specifically law enforcement, because I’ve always had a strong desire to serve and protect my community. I became interested in understanding how the justice system works and how law enforcement officers make decisions that impact people’s lives. This motivated me to gain the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive difference.

Why did you choose ASU?
I chose ASU because of its strong criminal justice program and its reputation for supporting student success. The flexibility of the program allowed me to balance school with my other responsibilities while still receiving a quality education that prepared me for a career in law enforcement.

What do you love most about your chosen profession?
What I love most about law enforcement is the opportunity to help others, protect communities, and uphold the law. It’s a career where every day is different, and I can make a real impact by promoting safety and building trust within the community.

Who has made the biggest impact on you, and who do you consider to be a role model at ASU?
My instructors at ASU have made the biggest impact on me. Their real-world experience and dedication to teaching have helped me better understand the challenges and responsibilities of law enforcement. They are role models to me because they are committed to preparing students to succeed both academically and professionally. Especially Dr. Kizzie Donaldson-Richard, and Dr. Lakesha Boone.

What are you passionate about outside of your education?
Outside of my education, I am passionate about spending time with my family, giving back to my community, and continuing to grow as a person. I value staying connected with others and making a positive impact wherever I can.

What advice would you give to other ASU students?
My advice to other ASU students is to stay disciplined, manage your time effectively, and stay focused on your goals. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek guidance and take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow.

What would you say to a high school student about choosing ASU to further their education?
I would tell a high school student that ASU is a great choice because it offers a supportive environment, quality education, and programs that prepare you for real-world careers. If you’re interested in criminal justice, it’s a place where you can build a strong foundation for your future.
