What motivated you to learn more about your field?
I am driven by growth and the desire to help others. I am naturally curious and there is always something more to learn. I love solving complex problems and knowing that my effort and dedication has helped another.

Why did you choose ASU?
The Healthcare Professional-to-RN Bridge program fit my schedule between work and being a mom. I had already completed my core courses, so it was easier to attend one class a week. Being local, it was an easy commute. The registration process was easy, and all of my questions were answered promptly.

What do you love most about your chosen profession?
Nursing is such a broad career that has multiple avenues to pursue. I love the options and choices that you have available, all while caring for others.

Who has made the biggest impact on you, and who do you consider to be a role model at ASU?
My instructor Kristen Hill has been a tremendous help and a role model for me of what kind of nurse I want to be after graduation. She has always answered any question I had and calmed any fear I had, no matter how high my anxiety ran.

What are you passionate about outside of your education?
My family is what drives me. My husband and children have stood by my side the entire time I’ve gone through the nursing program. They have been my biggest supporters and loudest cheerleaders.

What advice would you give to other ASU students?
Always seek to improve yourself. Don’t settle.
