Dr. Jarrod D. Benjamin

Dr. Jarrod D. Benjamin is a nationally recognized higher education executive, workforce strategist,  and student success advocate who will begin his tenure as Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Albany State University on March 2, 2026. With more than two decades of experience spanning higher education administration, workforce development, and military leadership, Dr. Benjamin is known for strengthening institutional performance through innovation, collaboration, and data‑driven student support models.

He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of The LEAD Firm, a national consulting organization where he partnered with more than 212 colleges and universities and multiple corporate and community clients. In this role, he supported institutions across the country in enhancing enrollment management strategies, strengthening leadership capacity, and improving organizational effectiveness.

Dr. Benjamin has held significant leadership positions at Jackson State University, Florida International University, and Florida Memorial University. Across these roles, he secured and managed more than $26 million in federal, state, and private funding. He has developed workforce and cybersecurity training pipelines, launched micro‑credentialing programs, and led initiatives that improved student engagement and retention. 

A U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Benjamin honorably served 14 years and rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Three, managing enterprise‑level technology systems and multimillion‑dollar IT assets across multiple overseas deployments. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University, an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, and several professional credentials, including PMP and CISM. Dr. Benjamin is committed to fostering a student‑centered campus environment and advancing strategic enrollment initiatives that maximize student success.
