Velma Fudge Grant Honors Program Scholarship Guide

Scholarship Statement:

Scholarship awards each academic year are subject to available funds. Each student accepted to the V.F. Grant Honors Program will be considered for scholarship awards on a case by case basis. Possible scholarship offerings include:

Presidential Scholarship Criteria (Currently Suspended)

(Award includes a $6,500 dollar scholarship annually- $3250 disbursed equally during the fall and spring semesters)

  • A candidate must be a graduate of an accredited public or private high school.
  • A candidate must academically rank in the upper five percent of his or her high school graduating class; with a cumulative high school grade point average (CGPA) of 3.8 to 4.0, and has demonstrated outstanding achievement or performance in extracurricular activities.
  • A candidate must have a combined verbal and mathematics SAT score of at least 1100, or a composite ACT score of at least 25.

Foundation Scholarship Criteria

(Award includes $2,000 dollar one-time scholarship - $1,000 disbursed equally during the fall and spring semesters)

  • A candidate must be a graduate of an accredited public or private high school.
  • A candidate must have attained a cumulative high school grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 to 3.79, and has demonstrated outstanding achievement or performance in extracurricular activities.
  • A candidate must have a combined verbal and mathematics SAT score of at least 1000, or a composite ACT score of at least 22.

V.F. Grant Retention Scholarship

(Award includes $1,000 one-time scholarship - $500 disbursed equally during the fall and spring semesters)

  • A candidate must be a currently enrolled student at Albany State University and member of the V.F. Grant Honors Program in good standing.
  • A candidate must have a 3.5 cumulative G.P.A.
  • A candidate must actively participate in scheduled Honors Program events, meetings, and service projects.
  • A candidate must maintain current progress reporting (i.e. mid-term conferences, tutoring, advisement) with the Honors Program Coordinator

  • specialty printing
  • select textbook rentals
  • Official honors program uniform.
