What motivated you to learn more about your field?
I reached a plateau in my career and wanted to transition into corporate for C-suite opportunities. Although I had earned my associate's in business, I knew it wouldn’t be enough to achieve my long-term goals.

Why did you choose ASU?
My husband is an ASU alumnus (c/o 2014), and the university offered an affordable, fully online program that provided the convenience I needed.

What are your post-graduation plans?
After earning my MBA, I plan to pursue my Certified Compensation Professional certification and work toward becoming a Director of Compensation within my current financial institution.

What do you love most about your chosen profession?
I love that my field directly influences pay equity, diversity, and inclusion—areas that can make a true and positive impact on people’s lives.

Who has made the biggest impact on you, and who do you consider to be a role model at ASU?
My academic advisor, Rashan Johnson, has had a tremendous impact on my ASU experience by providing consistent support and encouragement throughout my enrollment.

What is your favorite memory from your time at ASU?
Attending HBCU Day at RaceTrac's corporate office in Atlanta, where I shadowed operations, received career coaching, had my résumé reviewed, and received complimentary professional headshots. The experience helped me visualize my life and career after graduation.

What advice would you give to other ASU students?
Stay rooted in your support systems and take advantage of the academic and mental health resources available to you.
