Albany State University 2025 Faculty Internationalization Fellows Presents at the 9th Annual Faculty Internationalization Symposium
Albany State University (ASU) proudly recognizes the 2025 cohort of Faculty Internationalization Fellows for their exemplary efforts in transforming academic instruction through global perspectives. Faculty members presented their implementation processes and outcomes during the 9th Annual Faculty Internationalization Symposium.
A total of 28 faculty fellows representing all three colleges at ASU have integrated intercultural and international learning into a wide variety of academic disciplines. Their course redesigns promote global awareness and equip students—across both face-to-face and online environments—with intercultural competencies vital for success in today’s interconnected world.
The 2025 Fellows have internationalized courses across disciplines including business, music, nursing, criminal justice, psychology, biology, education, and more. Each participant has employed innovative strategies to embed global content, comparative analysis, and cultural relevance into their curricula.

Jordan, Dr. Ihuoma Ohamadike, Dr. Ihe, Dr. Kristine Konkol, Dr. Anthony Owusu-Ansah, Dr. Kizzie Donaldson-Richard, Dr. Dayanand Sundaravadivelu, Dr. Edgars Patani, Dr. Michele Monaco, Dr. Leah Delaney, Joël Johnson, Dr. Richard J. ASU’s faculty-led model has now internationalized over 130 courses, earning national recognition, including the 2023 NAFSA Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award for excellence in curriculum internationalization.
The 9th Faculty Internationalization Symposium featured presentations from all 28 fellows, showcasing student feedback, instructional strategies, and outcomes that demonstrate how global learning fosters academic excellence and cross-cultural competence.
