The James Pendergrast Memorial Library and Harold B. Wetherbee Library are the nerve centers of Albany State University. James Pendergrast Memorial Library is named in honor of Dr. James Pendergrast who was Dean of Academic Affairs. The collections of the two libraries are approximately over 300,000 volumes. It includes electronic and print journals, government documents, microform and other resources. The libraries are a part of the GALILEO consortia. GIL (GALILEO Interconnected Libraries) is the integrated library management system for acquiring, cataloging, accessing and circulating the collections of Albany State and units of the USG (University System of Georgia). GIL is an extension of GALILEO, Georgia’s Virtual Library which provides access to thousands of full-text journals, electronic books and much more.
