Library Policies

Currently enrolled ASU students, faculty and staff receive borrowing and password privileges via their ASU RamID card. All users must have a valid ASU RAM ID card or valid picture ID to borrow library resources.

Loan Periods

  • General Books: Four (4) Weeks or 28 days
  • Audio-Visual Resources: Three (3) Days
  • Reserve Resources: Per Professor’s Instructions
  • Reserve Textbooks: 2 hours
  • Study Rooms: 3 hours 

Reserve materials are available at the circulation desk in the library. Overnight checkout of some reserve materials is allowed only at closing time, and resources are due by opening time the next day. All materials on reserve are not allowed for overnight checkout. Faculty may set reserves for a longer time period. Reference resources, government documents and periodicals are for in-library use only.

Interlibrary Loan Books $150 replacement fee + Fines and fees from the lending institution
GIL Express Books (no disc) $150 replacement cost
GIL Express books (with disc included) $200 replacement cost

 

Renewals, Requests, and Holds

Renewals, requests, holds, books may be renewed if there is no hold on them. Library Resources may be renewed by phone. Renewals, requests, and holds may be done through the Primo Catalog. If you need assistance, please e-mail the Circulation Department at library_circulation@asurams.edu.

Test Taking at the ASU Libraries

We want to help you be successful in taking your test in GeorgiaView. In order that you will have enough time to complete your test by the closing time of the library, please do not begin a test one hour and thirty minutes prior to closing. Please use the guide below to monitor test taking times. The Student Tech Lab in room 108 is available by RAM card 24 hours a day. In order to give you enough time, please honor the following times to begin your test in Georgia View so that you will be able to complete the exam prior to the library closing.  Again, the Student Tech Lab in room 108 is available by RAM card 24 hours a day. Please honor the following times to begin your test. We hope that you will be successful in taking your test!
