Student Success Resources

The Peer Tutoring Center is available in a number of subject areas. Not only can you request a tutor but you can apply to work as a tutor as well.

The Career Development Center can help students choose a major, explore careers, search for internships or jobs, and create portfolios in preparation for graduation.

The Writing Center supports student success by helping students develop the writing skills necessary to achieve success in college courses. The staff provides constructive feedback, assists with revisions, and tutors students in proper ways of completing writing assignments. The Writing Center will assist in all writing assignments for all academic disciplines. Not only is there a walk in center but an online guide for help with writing is now available.

The Math Center provides support for any math class on campus. Support is provided in a number of ways. Students can receive one-on-one tutoring from any staff member, work on a computer with different software packages, watch online videos, or utilize the links for helpful web sites.

Albany State University implements an early alert system. With this system, each Instructor will submit an alert on a student’s course progress if there are concerns. The alert is sent via the official Albany State email to the student and Advisor. The Advisor will then follow up with the student and high school counselor. All alerts for dual enrollment students are sent to the Dual Enrollment Coordinator.
