Every year, we honor our founder, Dr. Joseph Winthrop Holley, during the week of Founder's
Day. In 2023, we will celebrate the 120th anniversary of the unsinkable, indestructible
Albany State University by honoring our beloved founder March 25 - April 1, 2023.

Holley History Hunt | All Week
Community Event
Do you know your ASU History? Get to know the campus by participating in the Holley
History Hunt. Find the items to fulfill the challenge. Post your photos to social
media using #HolleyHistoryHunt.

Virtual 5K | All Week
Community Event
Participants will track their steps on their preferred device for 6 days as they run,
jog, or walk to victory! In honor of Founder's Day, the registration fee for the Virtual 5K is $19.03. Participants
can submit their steps daily or all at once when they complete the race.
The top three participants in the following categories; students, faculty, staff,
and community members, will receive a participation certificate and bragging rights!
Be sure to show off your ASU spirit and tag us in your photos throughout the race
using the hashtag #asuramjoggers. Let's Go Rams!

Saturday, March 25
Mister + Miss ASU Royal Court Competition
2 PM | Billy C. Black Building Auditorium, East Campus
Community Event
Don't miss the 2023 Royal Court Competition, on March 25 at 2 p.m. in the Billy C.
Black Auditorium.
The winners will be crowned the next 11th Mister and 81st Miss Albany State University.
The event will also be live-streamed on the ASU YouTube channel.
Monday, March 27
Holley Bowl: Madden Tournament
6 PM | C.W. Grant Student Union Ballroom, East Campus
Community Event
In celebration of Albany State University Founder's Day, you are invited to attend
the Holley Bowl: Madden Tournament on Monday, March 27, at 6 p.m. on the East campus in the C.W. Student Union Ballroom.
The event is open to the public and free to attend. During the event, guests will
watch the finalist go head-to-head to win the championship belt and tickets to the
ASU Foundation Blue and Gold Scholarship Gala. We encourage you to come out and show
your support!

Show your creativity with chalk! Materials will be provided. There will be no competition
or theme, just have fun! There will be a special performance by the ASU Marching Rams
Show Band.

Community Engagement: Read to a Class Day
9 - 11 AM | Various Schools
Student/Faculty/Staff Event
Albany State University faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to volunteer for
the Read to a Class Day community engagement event.
Volunteers will read to elementary school students at the International Studies, Lake
Park, Lincoln, and Live Oak Elementary Schools.

Rams in the Bush: Student and Alumni Networking Event

Career Services is hosting an event for all students to network with Albany State
University alumni. This event is an opportunity for students to meet some of our outstanding
alumni who are in a position to help them begin their careers.

Convocation and Graveside Ceremony
9 AM | Billy C. Black Building Auditorium, East Campus
Community Event
Convocation will be on Friday, March 31 at 9 a.m. in the Billy C. Black Building Auditorium
on East Campus with the Gravesite Ceremony following.
The guest speaker will be Rutha Mae Harris ('70), ASU alumna and original Freedom
Singer.
National Alumni Association Luncheon
12 PM | C.W. Grant Student Union Ballrooms, East Campus
Alumni Event
Alumni are invited to attend the NAA Luncheon in honor of Founder's Day. Attendees
are encouraged to wear their ASU gear.
Tickets are priced at $40. This event is SOLD OUT.
National Alumni Association Business Meeting
2 PM | Peace Hall, Room 127, East Campus
Alumni Event
Please join the ASU National Alumni Association for its annual business meeting. Attendees
are encouraged to wear their ASU gear. All alumni are invited to attend.
Saturday, April 1
Open House
10 AM - 1 PM | Jones Brothers HPER Complex, East Campus
Community Event
Open House is the time to bring graduating seniors and other interested students you
know to your Alma Mater. Join us so that we might show your family and friends that
Albany State University is the institution they want to join!
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jones Brothers HPER Complex on East
Campus.
Blue Vs. Gold Spring Football Game
1 PM | ASU Coliseum, East Campus
Community Event
This will be the first chance for fans to see the first-year Golden Ram's new head
football coach and former NFL player Quinn Gray, Sr, and his new coaching staff in
action. There will be a number of recruits playing in the game, with a completely
new offense and defense.
Admission to the spring game and parking are free. Concessions will be available for
fans to enjoy while watching the game.
Blue and Gold Scholarship Gala
6 PM | L. Orene Building Hall Lawn, East Campus
Community Event
The week will end with the ASU Foundation's Annual Blue and Gold Scholarship Gala
on Saturday, April 1 at 6 p.m. on the L. Orene Hall Building Lawn. Additional information
