What motivated you to learn more about your field?
I always wanted to help others medically and I love “hands on” work, so chiropractic medicine is the perfect profession.
Why did you choose ASU?
My mother and aunt graduated from ASU. I have been saying that I was going to attend Albany State since age 2. When I visited open house, I felt an overwhelming sense of love and a family atmosphere. That alone made me fall in love with ASU.
What do you love most about your chosen profession?
It is so personable and spiritual. I love the connection chiropractors have with their patients and the positive and reassuring feedback patients give after they’ve been adjusted.
Who has made the biggest impact on you and who do you consider to be a role model at ASU?
I couldn’t dare give credit to just one person at ASU for impacting me. The people who have impacted me the most at ASU are the Velma Fudge Grant Honors Program staff (Dr. Florence Lyons, Mrs. Dedra Williams, and Mrs. Cheryl Mosley), Dr. Timothy Hughley (Chair of Health and Human Performance), my research mentor Dr. John L. Williams, and Rebecca Borer, Head Athletic Trainer. These people saw something special in me and molded me into the exceptional student I am today. I am ready to take on any experience because of them and I am forever grateful.
What advice would you give to other ASU students?
Get as much experience as you can during undergrad and PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES!
What would you say to a high school student about choosing ASU to further their education?
ASU is a huge family! Whatever you’re going through, you will NOT go through it alone! We are here for you and with you.
