Albany State University offers 2019 summer camp opportunities

From science to sports, Albany State University 2019 summer camps offer academic enrichment and recreation for all age groups.

ASU Summer Music Camp

The Visual and Performing Arts Department at Albany State University is conducting a free Summer Music Camp to area music students. Whether the student is an instrumentalist or vocalist, the ASU Summer Music Camp is specially designed to assist in developing and improving critical music skills necessary for success in any musical endeavor. This two-week (Monday-Friday) summer program will help students strengthen their music-based knowledge in Performance Techniques (instrumental and vocal), Music Theory, Music History, and Music Technology. What sets this camp apart from others is that not only will campers be immersed in exciting and fun musical experiences, they will also receive guidance and instruction in Math and Creative Writing. Students will have fun learning skills and strategies to successfully prepare them for college and beyond. Several times during the camp students will put on group and solo performances to demonstrate newly learned skills and techniques.

To ensure campers are supervised at all times, ASU has hired and trained ASU student counselors to be with campers at all times. I plan to keep each camper engaged for the entire day.”  Campers will enjoy “school-type” lunches served in the university dining facility at absolutely no cost.  There are even 2 off-campus field trips scheduled during this camp.  For the convenience of parents, campers will be allowed to drop off students as early as 7:45 a.m.
