President Marion Fedrick advocates for ASU on Capitol Hill
ALBANY -- ASU President Marion Fedrick joined other HBCU presidents and country lawmakers
in Washington, DC, Feb. 5-7, to celebrate the success of students and address challenges
at HBCUs. The trip was a part of the annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund HBCU Fly-In,
which convenes Presidents and Chancellors of its member-schools from publicly-supported
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions
(PBIs).
The annual TMCF event for member-school presidents and chancellors will include sessions on the TMCF value proposition, HBCU sustainability, capital financing for HBCUs, capacity building opportunities, and the advocacy agenda for the new 116th Congress. During the meeting, leaders visit Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress to discuss policies that help advance their institutions rich in history.
