Additional Dining Dollars
Additional dining dollars can be purchased anytime throughout the semester in increments of $100.00. Any unused dining dollar balance greater than $10.00 are refunded to the student within 30 days from the last day of the semester. For further details regarding the terms and conditions outlining additional dining dollars, please refer to the form linked below.
Meal Plan Changes
Residential students have the ability to make changes to meal plan selections through Add/Drop of each semester, which is typically the Thursday after classes begin each semester. Students wishing to make changes to meal plan selections must submit the request via the ASU housing application via the housing portal. For questions regarding meal plan changes, please contact the Meal Plan Office.
Meal Plan Cancellations
Residential meal plan cancellations made during the two-week grace period at the beginning of each semester will not be charged for board plan use. Students who cancel meal plans after the grace period will be charged a pro-rated amount based on the days the meal plan was available for use. Board plans will be pro-rated through mid-term. After this date, no accounts will be pro-rated; students will be responsible for paying the full amount of the meal plan. Pro-rations for cancellations of meal plans for students who make purchases for shortened sessions, i.e., A-Term or B-Term, will be allowed a grace period through the Thursday after classes begin, which is typically add/drop. Effective the Friday after classes begin, the student will be responsible for the full amount of the board plan. If dining dollars were utilized, charges will be based on the actual expenditures through the cancellation date. For further details regarding the terms and conditions outlining meal plan cancellations, please refer to the form linked below.
Commuter students, faculty and staff may cancel a chosen meal plan within two business days from the initial day of activation without penalty. Starting the third business day from the initial activation of the meal plan, the meal plan is non-refundable and no refunds will be processed. If dining dollars were utilized, charges will be based on the actual expenditures through the cancellation date.
Meal Plan Exemption
Students who wish to be exempt from the residential meal plan requirement due to dietary restrictions may request a meal plan exemption. Students must complete the Meal Plan Exemption Request Form and submit to the Meal Plan Office. Students must have submitted a Meal Plan Contract prior to submitting a Meal Plan Exemption request. In order to maintain the integrity of the student account, meal plan charges will be placed on the student account and must be paid even if the student has submitted a Meal Plan Exemption request. Should the exemption be granted, the student's account will be credited the cost of the meal plan or adjusted as recommended by the Meal Plan Exemption Committee. In-house personnel and a Registered Dietitian will work with any student and health care provider to assist with managing a student’s food allergies and special dietary needs. For further details regarding the terms and conditions outlining meal plan exemptions, please refer to the form linked below.
