Albany State Receives Home Depot Campus Beautification Grant
Thank you students, faculty and staff, alumni, and friends for voting continuously
for Albany State University (ASU) during the Home Depot Retool Your School Challenge
earlier this year. Because of your continued support, ASU finished the competition
in 4th place, making the University eligible for a grant of up to $75,000.
We are proud to announce that Albany State University has received a $30,000 campus
beautification grant from Home Depot. ASU will use the funds to focus on providing
general construction and beautification of the ASU Amphitheatre, a location used for
outdoor student gatherings. This will include landscaping, pressure washing, addition
of outdoor seating, development of an outdoor workspace for students, and electrical
outfitting of the general area.
Because of its historical location, the University will also install historical and
informational markers on existing and newly added structures to promote our rich history.
The area will be newly branded as Legacy Park.
