Albany State Invites Community to Homecoming Basketball Game

The Albany State University (ASU) Golden Rams will take on the Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Wildcats this weekend in their Basketball Homecoming game at the Jones Brothers HPER Complex on East Campus.

ASU Athletics would like to welcome all current and former faculty and staff, students, alumni and community members to the 2022 Basketball Homecoming. The Battle of the Blue and Gold will take place on Saturday, February 12. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men. The University is expecting the game to sell-out, and is encouraging fans to purchase their tickets early.

"The level of intensity increases every time ASU competes against the university up the road.  I look forward to seeing Ram Nation out in full force to support our ASU Basketball teams.  These games will go a long way in determining our SIAC Championship seeding,” said ASU Athletics Director Tony Duckworth.

The men’s basketball season is currently 8-14, while the women’s basketball is 8-13.

“Our student-athletes are ready to meet the Wildcats on the court, spending over 12 hours in preparation for this particular event,” said Head Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Gale. “We are also excited to use this exciting atmosphere as a recruiting tool for our local prospects.”

“We are hoping for a sold-out arena in expectation for a great game. Our Lady Rams have worked diligently in preparation for this opportunity to face Fort Valley State University on the court,” said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Robert Skinner.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults and college students, $10 for students K-12, and ASU students are free with ASU ID.

Fans should familiarize with the Clear Bag Policy implemented for 2022.
